Our Mold Building Services

We pride ourselves on offering top-of-the-line mold building services. We understand that the quality of a plastic product depends heavily on the tooling that is used to produce it, which is why we offer a range of services to ensure that our clients have access to the best tools possible. Our mold building process involves several stages, including design for manufacturability (DFM), material selection, mold flow analysis, mold design, tool construction, sampling, and qualification based on your requirements.

Our team of tooling and processing engineers are involved throughout the new mold build process. This ensures your product designs are optimized for efficient and effective plastic injection molding. By providing this assistance early on in the process, we can help our clients save time and money in the long run. From concept to finished product, we are here to be your partner throughout the entire process.

Plastech partners with both domestic and offshore tool shops to bring customers high quality and competitively priced molds. We utilize a single offshore tool shop for new builds and a handful of domestic partners who we have built a strong connection with over decades. We stamp a warranty on all new mold builds. We are able to do so because of the experts in our tooling department. This includes two full time tooling engineers with over 80 years of experience in mold building. This extensive knowledge and expertise is invaluable and a major key to driving success in any new project.

How does Plastech bring your new tooling projects to life?

Qualifying + Maintaining

As part of our project management services, we oversee the entire new tool design and development process. This includes mold flow analysis, which helps us to identify any potential challenges with the design before the mold is built.

We have experienced tool makers available 24 hours a day to provide preventative maintenance and revisions as needed, helping our clients to minimize downtime and maintain the quality in their parts. We also work with trusted tool shops for new builds and major revisions which ensures our clients receive the highest quality and competitively priced molds possible.

Each mold is placed on a specific preventative maintenance program. This program is in place for both new tools and transfer molds, and is designed to help our clients maximize the lifespan of their molds.
