Quality Always Comes First
Quality is our number one priority at Plastech. We have a wide range of qualification and validation services and work closely with our customers in providing these services. Our team members – including two layout techs – work one-on-one with customers to understand their requirements and establish controls throughout the entire production process to ensure quality expectations are met. Our dedication to quality has established many long-term and loyal partnerships with our customers.
Plastech utilizes First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and/or a Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to qualify initial product samples. These inspections are performed in our metrology lab which checks dimensional and cosmetic requirements per customer specifications. This information is provided to the customer for review and approval. Upon approval, the job is released for production. During production runs Plastech completes “In-Process” inspections per established Control Plan specifications. These inspections are completed within our IQMS ERP system which maintains the data and can provide Statistical Process Control (SPC) graphing for all prior inspections.
Maintaining the Highest-Quality Lab + Equipment
To provide accurate measurements, you need the right tools for the job. Plastech is constantly evaluating new equipment and measurement devices to maintain our high standards. Every piece of equipment used for measurement is calibrated against instruments traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or per manufacturer recommendations. Along with a full array of traditional inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial and digital indicators, Plastech utilizes the following state of the art inspection equipment:
- FaroArm – Portable 3D scanning and touch point measurement system
- Zeiss CMM – 4′ x 6′ bed
- Konica Minolta Handheld Color Spectrometer
- S-T Industries Optical Comparator
- Cordax Vertical Measurement System
